Newly opened independent inns

Set on upper Meeting Street at the edge of Charleston's historic district, Live Oak is a Tribute Portfolio property — Marriott's soft-brand collection, designed to feel one-of-a-kind while sitting inside a global hotel system. Early guests have been generous, giving it a 4.8 across a still-small pool of 65 reviews, the sort of number that suggests a recently opened address finding its footing. The location puts you within walking range of the peninsula's downtown core.
