Estate grounds independent inns

Set in Antler Hill Village on the grounds of Asheville's Biltmore Estate, this hotel trades grandeur for restraint: understated rooms built around window seats made for long afternoons with a book and a view. On-site dining, a pool, and a fitness center keep the day loosely structured, and the estate itself begins just outside the door. Guests rate it highly — 4.6 across more than 1,500 reviews.
